Day 2 Success!

Day two:: SUCCESS! I woke up to my alarm at 5:15 this morning, snoozed, then opened my eyes three mins later. I new I needed to get up, but considering I didn't fall asleep until after 11:00PM, it was extra hard. I looked through facebook and twitter, and checked my emails before dragging my butt out of bed. Grabbed a Special K cereal bar and a water and headed out the door.

Today's schedule was to run 40 mins. Considering its been exactly two weeks since I have ran, I knew to take it slow and easy. Obviously it was slow, with the 12:34/mi.... But atleast I did every 4min run/1min walk intervals without having to stop for extra 30sec walk breaks. I was impressed. The last 5 mins or so was just walking for a cool down because... because I haven't ran in two weeks.

When time change hits, I'm not sure how devoted I can be to getting up early. It will be something I will have to make myself continue to do after work in the afternoons, because, well, I don't like running in the dark. There was no light until 10 mins before my run was complete this morning. I kept looking at the houses here and there that had a light on and thinking "most people are still snuggled in bed right now."

It was cool this morning, but I still had a nasty sweat going on. Surprisingly I didn't struggle as much as I expected since I've been so lazy lately. I was thankful for each walk break, and able to push forward on each run. I was able to start my day healthy and happy! Such a great reward getting it over with early!!

After my run, I had 45 mins to get ready for work. As usual, I had my cereal in a cup on the way. Never have time to sit down and eat, except while driving.

My morning went super fast, and before I knew it lunch time was here. Good thing, because my stomach was almost in pain with all the hunger. My body had absorbed every bit of that cereal too quickly after my run.

Then it was time for errands during lunch, which consisted of turkey and spinach on sandwich thins, Special K Cracker chips, and a sunsweet ones :). Is this temperature even right? How is it only 88 degrees at 12:00PM in August in Ms?? It was pleasant.

 Aww Crap.
I tried to be good. Really I did. But passing this after lunch, I needed dessert. Darn Tax Accessor.
.25 got me this. I'd say perfect.
Ok shoot me, I did it again. I was having the hunger pains again after work. My lunch was def not big enough to keep me full. A patient had a cherry limeade delivered, so of course my mouth WATERED for one. Cherry Limeade, extra cherries. and mozzeralla sticks :/ I know I know. It was impossible to wait an extra 7mins to pull in my driveway, to eat somewhat healthy. the food, and drink lasted 4 mins tops. Brain freeze. yes.

So what was left to do? Eat the cherries and play with the limes. duh.

Tomorrow is day 3 of staying on schedule and it is a must. Wish me luck!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm trying to figure out my 405 garmin with the splits. I would rather it split at miles, not intervals. Can anyone help me figure out how to change it if it can be done? Thanks!

Hit it Hard

Reality check hit this morning. I have got to get serious about my eating, work out and running habits. and slack on the candy eating (I'm not completely giving it up). starting this week. Today started a new week so I'm getting on board and not playing around anymore.

Yesterday exhausted me, so my body let me sleep until my alarm went off at 8:45AM this morning for church. Talk about achievement! I started the day with delicious, whole wheat vegan waffles with blueberries and a wittle bit of syrup.
mmmhmmm

When I arrived at church, my sunday school class was already drilling me with "dress" questions! I stayed zipped. Another achievement.  After church, the parents and I went to eat Mexican. The only part of mexican in this meal was the seasoned grilled chicken and salsa on the salad. It was yummy too! I had only a bite of my moms rice. Normally I devour that rice. The cheese made this salad so much better.

Of course I had to take my usual Sunday afternoon nap! When I woke up, I was motivated by a twitter status to go workout! I needed somethign in my belly.. then I remembered the Melaleuca energy bars and sports drink I had gotten last week or so.

I love chocolate, and like it alot when its paired with caramel. Hello Access bar :) Chocolate Caramel Kruncher. Most bars like this don't always taste good, so I was skeptical.
Turns out....... ITS GOOD! The caramel was perfect with my chocolate bar. Happy mouth, happy girl. Thumbs up to the bar and the sports drink! Gosh I should get paid for all this advertisement.

Laced up my shoes and pumped for a workout now. These nasty things need a wash. White shoes are so not smart.

Hello gym, we meet again. You better treat me good, because we have got to become best friends throughout the next 6 months. No more playing. This is serious stuff now.

I started out my workout with the elliptical. Jamming to my tunes, and catching up on all the destruction of Irene on EVERY news channel.

Workout:
Cardio- 20 min elliptical, 20 min bike
Inclined abs (x20, x15, x10, x5)
Back- machine row (3x12) 40lbs
lat pulldown (3x12) 40lbs
back extension (3x15) 80lbs
Shoulders- machine press (3x15) 35lbs
dumbell presses (3x12) 10lbs
front raises (3x12) 5lbs
side raises (3x12) 5lbs
Biceps- barbell curls (3x12) 20lbs
barbell reverse curls (x5) 20lbs (HARD)
dumbell curls (3x12) 10lbs
concentration curls (3x12) 10lbs
curl machine (3x12) 20lbs
hammercurls (3x12) 10lbs
Triceps- kickbacks (3x12) 10lbs
overhead extension (3x15) 15lbs
machine pushdowns (3x15) 40lbs

Whew! I was going hard and feeling great! Two hour workout. Boy I haven't been able to say that in months! Today I decided to go back to my training sheet from when I had a trainer for three months in the winter. I had to decrease some of the weights, but I will work back up to it!

Got home and loaded up on some protein to help these muskuls build and recover appropriately.

I still had some energy left, so I washed clothes, cleaned the kitchen, cooked my dinner, made lunch for tomorrow, and laid out my running clothes for the morning. since I'm DEFINITELY going and not sleeping in.
New running shorts!

Dinner was blackened salmon with spinach salad with blueberries (obvious choice fruit of the day), onion straws, parmesan cheese, and poppyseed dressing drizzled. I think I had a healthy consumption of food today. Go me. No candy, only a 15 calorie orange sherbert popsicle for dessert.

Kardashians, then bed.

I've Found Love Twice!

Let me start by saying that I should change my blog title. Running Nonstop isn't happening lately. I find so much more to do with my time than to devote it to running. Is it normal that I'm planning a wedding and letting it consume my life? I hope so, cause its so much fun!! I get stressed so easily, and I know that eventually running will be the best thing to burn off stress... but right now I'm going stressfree for the most part.

I was suppose to run early this morning and cut it short since I was going dress shopping. Well....... that didn't happen. Last night when we decided we needed to leave at 7:45ish, I realized it wouldn't be worth the drive to only do about 3 miles and RUSH home to get ready for the day. So, I slept in. until 6:45. Sad that I consider that sleeping in on Saturday huh?!

Well we left the house before 8:00 and hit the road to Brookhaven, MS to go WEDDING DRESS shopping! I took my mom and mother-in-law to be! That drive could not have gone any better than it did. We talked the entire time and it made time fly by. Good thing because I would have gone crazy!!

Luckily I made my appointment the week I came back from getting engaged in SC :) They got me in at 9:30! and of course we got there at 9:15 and ended their morning meeting they were finishing early since we barged right in.

The first 30 mins of the appointment was all about Nicole. and I loved it! Then all these other people started showing up trying on dresses and raining on my parade of everyone looking at ME when I threw back the curtain. How dare them.

I fell in like with the very first dress I put on. This wigged me out a little considering I have heard its either the 1st or 3rd dress that brides pick. After about 10 dresses I had two favorites. The first one was put back on and I automatically started finding things I didn't like about it that I liked better in the other dress. Talk about confused now. So we kept going. Dress 14 or 15 was on and zipped. Fitting in a dress two sizes too small, we got it zipped and I stepped out to take a look. As soon as I looked in the mirror, the urge to cry tickled. Then I just stared at it. Every detail. and then stepped on and off to see how it looked up close and far away.
I didn't want to take it off. This was a cue for my bridal consultant. She asked "Do you want to see it with a veil?" As soon as it was in place, it came out. It wasn't an ugly cry... I tried to contain myself since there were so many people around. The veil was the perfect extra it needed. Did I really have to take it off? The only plus of taking it off was the fact that I could actually breathe again! Remember this sample was two sizes too small. After feeling beautiful, they put me in other sizes of the same designer. I def realized even more how perfect my dress is! The others were soooooo... we'll say, less pretty.

This is Shelia my bridal consultant! This lady was beyond awesome and the best staffed person there. My mom and MIL said that several times seeing how all of the other staff acted compared to Shelia. We were extremely pleased with how she helped us and took care of things to make this day amazingly memorable.

Yes I made her take about four pictures. These were the two best, and the second one she was lacking the smile, so I had to show her smile in the first one so you would know she liked me. After we found THE dress, we went back to the dressing room for measurements. I told her our engagement story and how perfect Andrew made everything. She got goosebumps, and almost cried. That makes my day every day to get reactions like that. I love bragging on Andrew :) maybe too much. but oh well.. shoot me. I'm just happy to know I'm marrying a man that can be romantic. Lets hope he doesn't lose the touch after the big day!!

After shopping for 3 hours, we were starving! The adrenaline I had all morning had worn off and I also felt exhausted! My body need food. and fast.

We drove down the road a little ways to a sandwich place the girls at the shop suggested.

Broma's had everything from yummy sandwiches, soups, salads, and spuds. Like our McAlisters. But a difference in taste for sure.

I ordered the Broma's Melt (Roast Beef, cheddar cheese melted, dressed how you like it, no tomatoes of course, on croissant), broma's chips (homemade, with ranch to dip) with a pickle on the side.
I've decided anytime the restaurants name is on a dish, its a must eat. Because obviously its good enough to have that name over everything else. I fully enjoyed eating this not so healthy meal.. It was a celebration lunch as an excuse. I ate all but 3 chips. They were irrestible with that ranch.

After lunch we went back to the bridal shop to skim through bridesmaid dresses and mothers dresses. No luck, so we left and headed home. Then on the road I realized I didn't get a single picture with my dress. I guess I'll be saving that for the fitting appointment. It will make my decision all that easier to keep the dress a secret until 3.10.12. Nobody is getting me to crack. Nobody. (fingers crossed)

We also forgot to get a group shot! So we stopped back at the area we ate lunch to get a pic. My car doesn't know how to focus as well as I do.. Oh well, it did the job.

Mom, myself, and Mrs. Charlotte (MIL)

Dinner was a must. Especially since eating was prolonged by my pretend blondeheadedness and left the house this morning with my house keys on my desk. Fabulous. I had to interupt a banquet at church to get my moms. Then I microwaved Lean Cuizine BBQ chicken pizza since I was on my own for dinner. Yummy!

Its almost 9:00PM on a Saturday night.... Sweet Home Alabama it is.... then bed!

Oh wait! In case anyone has worried about Andrew being on the East Coast...... He is safe and happy! The weather bypassed Charleston and spared them lots of extra work and loss of electricity. He did get called into work today to "clean up" since he does landscaping. Overtime baby!

Friday morning he sent me these pics at the beach he was working at in Edisto..

and this video.

and the ending to his day? Only a beautiful creation from God!

I'm so thankful my honeyboo is safe and sound!

Delivered Goodies and a Workout!

After hitting my alarm off at 5:15AM, then setting it for 6:30 and then snoozing until 6:45, I was completely bummed and disappointed with myself for yet again skipping a morning run. I haven't ran since last Monday. Seriously what is my problem??? I have not been motivated whatsoever. After getting in the shower, I washed all my disappointment away and threw my running clothes in a gym bag since they were already laid out. Wednesday is not a crosstraining day with my Marathon Makeover schedule, but I decided to change it up this week to get my groove back.

Monday: failed.
Tuesday: arm workout. and inclined abs
                  dumbell curls (3x12) 10lb
                  concentration curls (3x12) 10lb
                  hammercurls (3x12) 10lb
                  curl machine (3x12) 20lb
                  tricep kickbacks (3x12) 10lb
                  overhead extension (3x15) 15lb
                  v-bar push downs (3x12) 30lb?
                  front shoulder raises (3x12) 5lb
                  side shoulder raises (3x12) 5lb
Wednesday: AM run!
Thursday; AM run!!!
Friday: another crosstraining day with arms, abs, and cardio?
Saturday: 5ish mile run in the AM with MM group and leave early (suppose to do 8-9mi) to go DRESS SHOPPING!!

After work I headed straight to the gym to get my arm pump on. Pumped! It was very successful and I feel so good after finally getting in a good workout even if it didn't involve cardio.

Yes, I am a voter.... so I casted my vote. I got home and went threw my Melaleaca products that arrived yesterday! It was filled with protein shake, toothpaste, energy drink, vitamins, and energy bars.

Since I had just had a workout, I decided to try out the protein shake. It was dutch chocolate and it was good! It tasted just like chocolate milk. and this made me happy. I also had a piece of cheese. Cowpals are awesome. I didn't just have one, I had two. and pieces of crabmeat. the fake stuff of course.

If I have time before bed, I'll be flipping through these two things :)) I have had a break for a couple of days and ready to get back in to it! Do you blame me??

Dinner was salmon patties (covered in ranch), a test crabmeat pattie, and baked/seasoned squash and zucchinni sticks.

Dessert.... Jelly Bellys!
This bag was full when we picked the guys up on the way to the coast Friday night. Ooops. I had long road trips and have to have candy to survive. Yes I'm serious.

Now lets see if I can get in the bed at a proper time so I can convince myself to get out of bed at 5:15 to run. Dont bash me if I don't.

Roadtrip to Biloxi!

This past weekend a group of us went down to the coast to see my bro-in-law to be since he is down there for school right now. The airforce is shipping him to ITALY in December for 2 years, so we wanted to go have a little fun before he has to leave.

Brittany, Amanda, and I headed down to Biloxi Friday after work.

We picked up Rob and Will since they were on the way, and met up with Rob's roommate Justin, his gf Ashlyn, and her roommate Sarah. Adam and his gf, Shawna, were already there waiting. As soon as we got to Biloxi, we headed to the Hard Rock for some dancen! Adam (my BIL) got us VIP...... cause he is just that important and he can do that.
This two are my loves :) They will also be in the wedding! Britt is Maid of Honor (whoop!) and Amanda is a Bridesmaid!! I love my girls.
This is the whole group. Yeah we love pictures. I'm saving you the boredom of looking thru them alllll. They are on fb tho.
This shot took all of 58382958439 times thanks to random drunk people taking it sideways. you were so much help.
My favorite picture of the night! How we didn't get kicked out of this place before we could make it outside I do not know. The boys decided to play "jump in the elevator" and beat on the walls to make music. I have cool friends. I promise. and these faces are just priceless.
Cause we were at the Hard Rock and all.

Next stop was Ship Island! On Saturday, after a full 3-4 hours of sleep, we all got up and caught the ferry at 9:00 to an island about 20 miles off the coast. We got lost, and did some illegal things with road blockers. But we didn't get arrested. Always a plus to have a clean record. We didn't think we would make it by 9, but we did.

This is after departing and headed to Ship Island.
My Britt

We see LAND!
The beautiful MS Coast people we had the pleasure of sharing the ferry with.

We're here!!! this was followed with a mile walk to the beach.
You love my cheesing smile don't you. I couldn't not put one of myself up.
One view of the line up, and the other. Amanda was in the middle and didn't post the pic I had taken of here, therefore, she does not exist at this time in the post.  btw- some of these pics are Amandas. Can you tell that we are obsessed with Instagram??? Its a iphone app that changes the look of pic. Love.
Want some history on Ship Island? Sure you do. The island was named in 1699 by French explorers who liked the protected, deep-water anchorage it offered their ships. The island soon became an important port for French Louisiana. Many colonists took their first steps on American soil at Ship Island and it is considered the "Plymouth Rock" of the Gulf Coast. A fort was built as protection and people can go in and tour, or really just look around and take pictures.

and we headed back at 5:00....
That day completely drained us so Saturday night wasn't all that interesting. We all napped and then got ready for dinner and drove around for an hour trying to find a seafood place open at 9:30. We finally ended up going to Boomtown for CRAB LEGS.
I love it how this pic is extra big. It was extra important to show you the yumminess I filled my belly with.

Sunday, we all slept in! Then got up to check out of the hotel at 11:00 and headed for lunch at a place featured on Food Network, not once, but twice. Guy Fieri did Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives I do believe, and they were also on a BBQ cook off show. It's called.... The Shed. A complete hole in the wall. but delicious.

The inside was pretty cool I guess. I would have been rich if I had taken all the dolladolla bills off the ceiling.

We shopped after lunch, and I visited Andrew's grandmother to show off my pretty pretty rang. Then we headed home. Road trips are fun, but pictures like this make it even better.

I was so sleepy when I finally got home that I said screw putting on clean sheets that were laying there and climbed in my bed under my comforter. Oh and I have yet to run or workout since LAST Monday. My goal is either a run or a workout before work tomorrow. Heck, I even have clothes in my car to hit the gym after work. Lets see if that happens.
